Product description
Protein A orginates from Staphylococcus aureus and has five antibody binding domains and a cell binding domain. It binds IgG from most mammalian species and some IgA and IgM through the Fc region.
Medicagos recombinant protein A, “PAII” is produced in E. coli using animal free media. The recombinant form has the cellbinding domain removed, for reduced nonspecified binding and leakage.
PAII is supplied as a lyophilized white flocculate. The purity of PAII is determined by SDS- PAGE, which generates one single band at 42 kDa. The activity is tested by interaction with human igG. The product is to be used for laboratory work only.

Shipping and storage
The product is shipped at -20°C however for over-the-day transport it may be shipped at ambient temperature. The lyophilized powder is stable for more than three years from production date when stored below -20°C. After reconstitution, the solution may be stored frozen in working aliquots for up to 12 months.
